INSTRUCTIONS

Put all the educational jargon aside for a moment and reflect on who you are as a leader. What experiences have shaped who you are? How do you visualize yourself as a future teacher leader? As part of this opening discussion board, introduce yourself to your classmates, and provide some insight into what makes you—you?

In your reply to your classmates, begin to use the discussion board as a way to network with other future teacher leaders. Ask questions. Make this discussion board more than a requirement—use it to begin your voyage toward greater leadership in your school.

ANSWER THE ABOVE QUESTION THEN REPLY TO MY CLASSMATE’S POST EXPLAINING WHY YOU AGREE WITH HIS POST TO THE ABOVE DISCUSSION (A MINIMUM OF 150 WORDS EACH)

                                                  CLASSMATE’S POST

I am currently employed in the educational sector. My future goals are I hope to finish this master’s degree before I being to get complacent and laid back. With the hopes that after I finish, I can move up the line in my job to become and Education Officer (Teacher Leader). Although I am studying teacher leadership, I have never taught a class, nor do I have any credentials in teaching, but I love the idea that education is important, and every child must learn, and every child can learn.

Many times, I have questioned myself if I am a true leader and a born leader. Some persons have a natural knock for leadership. Unfortunately, I have not always followed the path of a leader. Sometimes I tend to follow even when I know the right thing. However, when it comes on to work all fun and jokes are put aside, and I tackle the task as a leader and ensure everyone knows what is expected and how the work must be done. What have really shaped me as a leader are my own personal experiences. I am a soft-spoken young woman and if not, careful people will try to walk over me and because of this whenever I am in a situation, I must take charge as I do not want to be seen as weak and vulnerable nor give the intention that I cannot handle a given task.

What makes me-me is that I am an individual who know how to work with all personality and all persons. You will never hear me complaining about another person as we all have different personalities. I believe it’s important to get to know persons before we are quick to judge as we never know what others can offer us and what we can offer others.

How about you? What makes you-you?
