You must answer one of the following two essay questions. The essay question is worth 40 marks. Your response to the question should be around 2,500 words. Make sure that you support your answer by at least referring to the findings and arguments in the readings and lecture materials. It is recommended that you go beyond the course readings.
Please make sure that you: double space your essay, use 12 point font, utilise the APA referencing style. Using headings and subheadings is also recommended. Please also refer to the essay CRA sheet that appears below.
- Utilising the Doomadgee case, research findings, academic commentary and other evidence assess the proposition that police discretionary decisions work against the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

- Compare and contrast the arguments that have been advanced for and against the incorporation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Law in the criminal justice system.
