Assessment 2 is an individualised piece of work aimed at assessing your interviewing skills and

    purposes. It:
    • allows you to demonstrate and then analyse your interviewing skills for Assessment 2; and
    • forms the basis of part 2 of your assignment.
This video is due before Friday, week 7 (9th April) at 5PM so that we can make sure it is ready for marking in week
  2. Analysis of the interview
    Instructions
    • Each student will conduct, document and video record a health assessment interview. On
campus students will complete this during the tutorial in week 7. Off campus students will need
to complete this at home in week 7. The health assessment form can be found on the week 5
    learning material MAP

between 6-10 minutes duration. This will give you enough ‘material to analyse for part
    two of your assessment.

    week 5 learning material MAP.

    can record the video.
    • Ensure you have had a trial run before you attend your tutorial session, and make sure that
you have looked in Week 5’s module at the link titled “Recording video instruction sheet”.
What parts of the HAF do I need to complete for the video?
    • Section A of the HAF needs to be completed up until and including the questions related to
religion and culture. This is the first page of the HAF only (after the title page). This form can
be found on the week 5 learning material MAP.
    • Confidentiality needs to be maintained – patient names and details must be fictitious.
    • Comprehensive data must be recorded.

Select either ONE good or poor example of your body language during the interview. Briefly describe this moment
and include the time from the video where you found the example i.e. (6.23) at the end of your description.
You only need to choose one example.
For example: ‘During the interview the nurse tapped her foot repeatedly while waiting for answers
    from the patient (5.30)’.
If you chose a good example of the skill, then explain why and support your discussion with evidence
from academic journals and texts. If it was an area needing improvement, then explain why and how it
might have been improved and again support the discussion with evidence from the literature.

Maximum of 6 statements of conversation for example quote
