- Explain normal cognitive changes that occur due to ageing and explain why dementia is not part of the normal ageing process.
- Explain why the myth “confusion is a normal part of ageing” is psychologically or physiologically harmful to older people.
- Explain the role of the nurse in maintaining cognitive function and ensuring safe quality care for an older person with dementia during an acute hospitalisation.
