RE; A LETTER TO THE STAKEHOLDERS FOR A PROPOSED PROJECT WITHIN THE SCHOOL
The enclosed proposal responds to a dire need to reach out to the dyslexic students in the school. This letter is written to all the stakeholders that are very person who will be directly or indirectly affected by the endeavor, not limited to principals, superintendents, curriculum coordinators, and colleagues in the school. I am a teacher at the school, and I am advocating for the dyslexic children in the school who are yet to be identified and thus neglected by the school in their academic capacities. There is a great need to recognize Dyslexia as a disability that children go through and the support they need to receive. Dyslexia is the main cause of the reading achievement gap in many students from all backgrounds. Children who have Dyslexia but are yet to identify it are highly likely to grow up believing they are dumb or stupid and education is not their niche. As a result, they record a higher rate of school dropouts hi unemployment, poverty, anxiety, and depression. However, with proper interventions, dyslexic people can become very successful in the future.
For this reason, I write this letter to propose a set date once every term to create awareness about Dyslexia and the mobilizing of grassroots levels to reduce the reading achievement gap through the diagnosis screening and treatment of all dyslexic students in the school once every term. This is because the school that I teach in is a public school filled with low and middle-income communities; thus, the parents of these children do not have the means to access the expensive tutoring and testing for their children. In addition, these measures do not exist in many public schools in the country, and this school is not an exception. Therefore, I propose a set day every once a term where parents are invited, and awareness is created on Dyslexia. On this day, there could also be educational programs for teachers where they will be trained to identify and support dyslexic students. The identified students will be screened, diagnosed, and offered treatment plans. They will also be assigned specific teachers who will tutor them during the tern, and they will have a tailored curriculum to meet their special but specific needs.

Introduction Overview and Background
Over the years, the school has experienced poor performance from students who are thought to be incapable of performing better in their academics. Following the great observation, the characteristics expressed by the children are quite the same, which include; difficulty in sounding out new words. These students lack fluency of speech compared to other students of their age.. They have difficulty spelling common words, and frequently, they will phonetically spell them. For this reason, they avoid reading out loud in front of classmates because they have become frustrated and tired. (Martinelli K, 2021)
Therefore for this project, I will require the total efforts from teachers, parents, students, and every stakeholder to participate in a one-day capacity building and training to create awareness on Dyslexia and treat it among students who are admitted in the school. Statement of the Problem(s)
Dyslexia is a common problem among children in various parts of the world today. It is a problem associated with difficulty in reading among students as it affects a child’s aptitude for manipulating and recognizing the sounds in language. Dyslexic children may have difficulty decoding new words, which brings about difficulties with spelling, reading, and their writing capabilities. There are ways in which people with Dyslexia can be assisted to read and write. Federal law ensures schools provide children with the necessary help (Hartford, 2017). Children who have Dyslexia but are yet to identify it are highly likely to grow up believing they are dumb or stupid and education is not their niche. As a result, they record a higher rate of school dropouts hi unemployment, poverty, anxiety, and depression. With proper interventions, dyslexic people can become very successful in the future; many public schools are filled with low and middle-income communities; thus, the parents of these children do not have the means to access the expensive tutoring and testing for their children. Proposed Plan
The main goal of this project is to create awareness on dyslexia among students and provide treatment screening and diagnosis for dyslexic students who all from low-income families and cannot afford this expensive treatment. This project has objectives such as having a set date in the school once every term to create awareness about dyslexia and mobilizing grassroots efforts to reduce the reading achievement gap among dyslexic students. In addition, the diagnosis screening and treatment of all dyslexic students in the school will be carried out on this day, and proper measures will be put in place to ensure the dyslexic students get all the necessary attention for better performance in school
Method
The school can evaluate to identify students with dyslexia through evaluation tests that test the child’s intellectual ability and capability to read. The school can then give recommendations on how to support your child as their students to maximize learning
Feasibility
The feasibility will be measured in terms of the outputs, outcomes, and impacts.
Outputs Trained personnel from the Yale Centre of Dyslexia will train and sensitize teachers, parents, and students on the issue of dyslexia and provide screening diagnosis and treatment to affected students.
Outcome It is expected that by the end of the project every term the participants will use their training in various ways to create awareness about dyslexia and form policies that will enable schools to embrace the disability in dyslexia and find strategies to help dyslexic students after one year.
Impacts The impact of the project might be that the whole school fraternity is aware of dyslexia among students in the school and has identified dyslexic students whom they have intentionally walked with to improve their academic achievement within the institution.
Personnel
Personnel required will be the Students who will be taught about dyslexia and made familiar with the term so that they can identify what they are going through teachers who will nurture and teach the children with dyslexia according to their specific needs Parents who will know how to understand their children who may not perform very well in school and find means and ways to help them understand. The school board will implement policies, including setting one day to sensitize all teachers, parents, and students about dyslexia. Members of the Yale Centre for Dyslexia who are well trained in the matters of identifying treatment and diagnosis of dyslexia among children will sensitize the teachers, parents, and students on the signs and the effects of dyslexia among students
Conclusion
In conclusion with strategies and help for making up for their weaknesses in learning and decoding dyslexic students can learn to write and read this thrive academically is right to say that there is an urgent need for incorporating more strategies by the public school to create awareness and come up with new methods for teaching students who have dyslexia and to intervene early enough concerning their educational process. The urgency for the in-depth training initiatives for teachers focusing specifically on dyslexia should be given priority. Lack of training on teachers, parents and the students themselves has appeared to be the primary reason for the massive increment of cases of students living with dyslexia, both who are identified and those who are not identified; thus, the school needs to set up a day termly to curb this academic challenge.
