• All students selected as state finalists will be eligible to apply for Texas Interscholastic League Foundation
scholarships (tilfoundation.org). Eligible applicants have access to dozens of scholarship opportunities;
this school year alone, the TILF will disburse more than $1 million in scholarships to almost 600 students.
• The Latino History Essay Competition is open to all students in grades 9-12 attending UIL member high
schools. State finalists will be selected from essays entered. In addition to scholarship eligibility, finalists will
compete for state awards and will be invited to attend the Academic State Meet in May 2020.
